but it's one of those odd storms where the temperature actually increased a little as the night wore on, causing snow levels to rise in the Sierra.
I spent quite a bit of time watching the weather radar maps and in places where it had been snowing at 5pm it was back to rain by 10pm. Mostly between about 6,000'-7,200' or so.
If it had been 10 degrees cooler, this would be have been one impressive snow making storm for the area. Though I'm sure it dumped pretty good at around 8,000' and above.
We badly need this precipitation, whatever form it takes

I don't know about houses sliding, but their have been homes affected by mudslides yes...
