(13,324 posts)256. An estranged boyfriend (or even husband) should not have an absolute right to be present
if his presence - for whatever reason - would make an already difficult process more uncomfortable. I don't see why his feelings or opinions should trump the mother's, in this case.
He does, however, have the right to be notified, and - assuming that, like most men, he's not an abuser - to visit.
