Graphic image, hand injury, don't open if you're queasy: http://preview.tinyurl.com/ACA-works-for-Teresa
So it seems she was moving her storage trailer from a neighbor's driveway and the neighbor backed up while her hand was still in between the hitch and truck.
She didn't carry insurance at the time so never got proper treatment, and she sure as hell didn't have any coverage post-injury when I met her.
On her behalf, I made calls, did some research, never complained about it to DU or anybody, just did the human being thing and tried to solve the problem.
This had a good outcome, and my own personal healthcare costs dropped by over $800/month, so I'm pretty happy, and Teresa has her meds, and other people have their meds, too!
All around, it's a good thing!
