Nobody wants to attack the others, anyway (with the possible exception of Poland).
Then we could reduce our military to something a little less imperial, and deal with our domestic problems, before they deal with us. And no, I don't mean funding the NSA, FBI, CIA, and all those other instruments of oppression.
