(14,061 posts)Because as much as you try to spin all this "progress," the fact of the matter is that a majority of the jobs that have been created are below subsistence level. That's been pointed out here and elsewhere ad nauseam. And as I noted in another post upthread, there is enough blame on BOTH sides of the aisle for this mess, as BOTH sides continue to pander to those who have the most influence in this country, and I'm not talking about you, me, or your nephew.
Congrats on his pay rate, by the way. I'm a temporary full-time worker who won't return to the job until October. I'm hoping to get some kind of raise then, but it won't be anywhere near $35 an hour, I can guarantee you that.
By all means cheer the job numbers. But all some of us ask is that you be honest about what they truly represent. That is all we're asking. But what I'm seeing here in some of these responses is akin to Marie Antoinette's cake reference.
And does being a "good Democrat" call for blind allegiance? Sorry, I'm not part of any group that demands that.
