Outside of Cosmo, this is probably the most disturbing magazine I've sever seen.
The answer to this is simple and to the point. These people live in perpetual fear. They are unstable blobs of paranoia.
(Just realized that SHTF means Shit Hits The Fan)
But they still love their Iphones apparently.
