I was an extra in a movie he was in, a long time ago, and the production was cheaping out and giving the extras (of which there were only a few) bag lunches with a baloney sandwich and an apple in there instead of the regular meal everyone else got. This did not sit right with Ed, who had apparently sniffed out this mild labor-related injustice by some preternatural lefty sixth sense. He set it aright with a few well-chosen words to the 1st AD, and we were eating like kings thereafter.
In conclusion: a prince of a guy, and very friendly to we lowly extras.
