(35 posts)This is indeed a bipartisan issue. States rights will be lost. The sovereignty of the United States will be lost.
The trick is to put that spin on it before the far right and corporate lackeys can spin it as a liberal idea or an idea that is good for the US. I guess that is already starting to happen, but not in force yet.
It is up to people like us to point out why this is bad for both the right and the left if you value the sovereignty of your state or your nation.
If Everyone on DU who agrees that the TPP is a very bad idea keeps bringing this topic up with their friends, their facebook buddies, their Twitter followers, their local representatives, their community email groups, etc etc we can do something.
I have been posting in all the venues that I have acces to all day, and started the petition (link above).
I wrote in to alternet.org about it.
Still to do: write my local representatives and Senators, write in to Whitehouse.gov
Find the "contact us" link on Whitehouse.org
How does one start a petition at whitehouse.org? I started one at signon.org (link in post above). Can somebody find out how to start one at whitehouse.gov and give us the link here?
