my son attends one of those east coast schools whose name always gets tossed around in the laundry list of liberal institutions.

Com'on, you've got to be kidding. I spend most of every dinner during his breaks at home in full metal reprogramming mode. What scares me most is not that he's learning isn't about factual inaccuracies, it seems to be about creating a logic system that makes it OK to be blind to what's going on in this country.

It makes me totally f'ing crazy that he can sit there and rationally articulate why it's ok for there to be so many hungry people on the streets of what we believe is the greatest country in the world. He had a great logic flow but it always seemed to float between the real world that the fantasy world of hypothetical.

The good news is that by the end of breaks he seems to be back to normal and, as he approaches senior year, he's finally starting to show some signs of being able to spot the bizzaro-ness of his own arguments. If he's learned one thing it seems to be in answer to the questions "are you even listening to the absolute crap your saying ?"

Damn I thought this parenting thing would end at some point. I now realize it's a life sentence.
