Want to live a life completely GMO free? Let me tell you how easy it is. [View all]
Eat nothing made from corn, canola, cottonseed, rice, sugar beets, and soy beans.
This is easy for me because I generally cook with either organic peanut oil or organic extra virgin olive oil. Corn chips and rice have too many carbs and I need to lose weight. I rarely use any form of sugar in cooking and when I do it's usually organic honey obtained locally.
Eat no papaya. I hate papaya, so this is not a problem for me.
Eat no dairy produced by hormone raised cattle. Easy to get from Whole foods and the issue of the hormones themselves are more important to me for health reasons than the fact that some hormones are produced via GMO organisms.
Buy no fresh produce with a PLU sticker that starts with an 8.
That's pretty much it. Follow those rules above and you're really living a low-carb diet for the most part, but you won't be eating anything GMO.
Soon there may be an issue with salmon, but I rarely eat salmon after an experience with a piece of salmon in a restaurant that had gone bad.
