Right on, Ron Paul [View all]

No, I am not a Ron Paul supporter, but I completely agree with his position on the TSA.

"In a harshly worded attack on the Transportation Security Administration, which handles security screenings at U.S. airports, Ron Paul, known for his strident libertarian views, said the TSA 'gropes and grabs our kids and our seniors and does nothing to keep us safe.'

<snip>

On the campaign trial, Ron Paul has called for the abolition of the TSA on the grounds that it wastes taxpayer money and violates personal liberties."

Real security will be achieved when the airlines are once again in charge of protecting their property and their passengers. This is the way it is handled in Europe. In Schipol (Amsterdam) for example, the airlines do the security process AT THE GATE, so no long lines, no hassle. The personnel are polite and even-tempered, unlike some of the TSA types I've dealt with at Newark and, worse, JFK.
