I'm not well versed in gun laws our gun culture and the only gun I've ever held was my ex husband's 40 year old deer rifle. The same deer rifle he held while he was waiting for me to drop off our kids belongings for the weekend, the one detectives believe he meant to take my life with had i not been running late, the same rifle he ended his own life with in the back yard of the only home his kids had ever known. But here's the thing, i don't want to take away your shotguns or deer rifles, i fully support your right to have them and your right to hunt. But to this day, 3 years later, when I think of the damage my ex could have done with a weapon like the one used in CT, at a time when he was filled with rage and sinking into the depths of mental illness that he refused to acknowledge or seek treatment for i can't catch my breath or calm my shaking hands. So forgive me if I don't support your right to own every kind of gun.
