12. Firing pins are wearable items.

Most firearms have easily replacable firing pins. I could probably make a replacement firing pin for most guns with a dremel and piece of steel in just a few hours. The better component to RFID tag would be the barrel or chamber (if separate frmo the barrel). Each is necessary for firearm function, much more difficult to improvise, and dangerous to mutilate (in removing the RFID).

Unless you have access to nice machines/equipment or have spare parts onhand, it would be difficult to deface/defeat the RFID chip. Most gun guys don't carry spare cyclinders, barrels, or chambers in their spare parts kit.
