2. No, the republicans aren't asking Obama to read their minds

They are asking him to shoot himself in the foot. ANY spending cuts that he proposes will be campaigned against by the Repubs. They are just hoping that he repeats his mistake of 2011 and proposes raising medicare eligibility ages and cutting SS increases. Then they can run back home and say "see! That horrible Obama wants to cut your medicare and Social Security!"


I just hope Obama has the spine to resist those calling for him to fall into this trap again. Many pundits already are trying to push him into doing so, even to the point of making crap up.
