For the most part, they get pretty well stomped by the majority--sort of like Whatsisname Coma or Colmes or whatever that Fux hires as a punching bag for Hannity.
Social psychology long ago established that the best way to change opinions was not just to argue against them, but to push forward an assertive argument against a weak-kneed defender. Again, just like Hannity and Coma.
So just rally your best arguments and keep on treating the Neocon/3rd Way/"Progressive" Policy Institute types like punching bags and, however annoying they may be, realize that they too can serve a purpose.
Just like Coma.
