Sorry Claire, you're wrong. [View all]

Just now on Morning Joe, Claire McCaskill commented that her only critique of the Harris/Walz rally last night was that they didn’t spend any/enough time praising President Joe Biden and the job he’s done. I strongly disagree with Claire on this. First let me say that I have always supported and believed in President Biden, would have absolutely voted for him had he stayed in the race, and feel, he is competent to do the job. He stepped down though, and the torch has been passed. Kamala has taken up the task beautifully and her choice for VP was inspired. The campaign is surging forward with momentum not seen since 2008, and it is because it is looking forward. Now is not the time to be invoking the accomplishments of President Biden, looking backward. There will be plenty of opportunity for the Harris/Walz ticket to weave into the conversation what Biden did and started, and how they will move those things forward, but for now, especially to energize the young voters, they need to focus on the present and future, not the past, great as it has been.
