18. In Seminole County ....

An odd thing happened to this predominately red county on election day. The people of Seminole County voted to tax, yep add a new tax) for public schools.

Scott has gutted our public school system. He has managed in two years to cause more harm then 8 years of Jeb Bush. And Jeb trashed our public school system. The only good that has come from the last 10 years is that the FCAT is finally dead.

Scott has also screwed over the public colleges. Best example was my alma mater of UF. This college is the science college, fsu is definitely a better arts school (and arts to me is important, my son is a music major, and I always preferred arts over science class unless the science had arts in it). UF was going to cut its computer science college. This was because of Scott and the rethug state senate were spending tax dollars on charter schools and opening up new colleges they either cut in half or alloted zero dollars for public schools both on the k-12 level but colleges as well. UF did not go through with cutting the computer science collage thank god!

BTW - FL rethugs are already starting to air anti Crist ads.

Stunning to suggest that when charters lie about enrollment they get public money. madfloridian Nov 2012 #1
