would lose strength or waste away from lack of appetite. Marijuana was (is) great for increasing appetite. It's also great psychologically. It lifts people's spirits and gives them a different perspective on their situation.
Don't even get me started on psilocybin, peyote, LSD etc. for treating psychiatric illnesses.
The plant world offers us so much, and we've only scratched the surface of their benefits.
