The brands are all assets. Creditors have a right to get whatever can be got and a popular brand is commonly sold to other companies who can then produce the product in cases like this, I believe. I'm no business expert and I have no idea which products might survive and in what form, but I have worked for a company that liquidated assets a lot less prominent in the market than Hostess stuff. Those brands were sold to other companies and at least some are still being produced even though the actual company and its facilities are long gone. So, lovers of spongey white bread and Hostess snowballs (my favorite), don't lose hope.

(But really, once you get used to a nice whole grain bread you don't even like the Wonder type anymore. And I speak for a whole family of people who don't generally have the healthiest of preferences when it comes to food.)
