(5,125 posts)Setting aside the religious aspect, look at his words and deeds and how he reached out to the people as a whole and gave them hope and forged a path for people to forgive themselves when they fall short and as humans we all do have those days.
He cared.
He put himself in harms way for others.
He gave people a path of peaceful resistance that helped change the world.
Sounds more like a lot of DEMS I know than these RePukes putting on airs.
Are there other valid belief systems and ways of living an honorable and moral life? Yes.
Does that make following the ACTUAL example of Christ wrong? No
Does using His name to do things completely against his message of love and hope make them very poor and awful examples of Christians? Yes.
A Christian should REFUSE to EVER, EVER HATE ANYONE in God's name. God IS Love. Hate is the opposite.
John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world..." and if HE doesn't make exceptions, then neither do I.
God is not prejudiced. He loves everyone. So TRUE Christians really need to check themselves and get their heads on straight.
It's so much easier to be self righteous and claim all you do is "GOOD" then to truly live a humble and righteous life. Do the next right thing and move along despite the weariness of not being understood or appreciated.
Christians who act like Pharisees are NOT doing what Christ asked them to do. They are full of themselves and whitewashing their behavior.
It doesn't make ALL Christians bad people.
