Lots of evidence kids are better with a later school day any way. But then the parents’ workday has to start later. Every solution has downsides, which folks can address as they go. I don’t have a strong opinion either way, just am surprised that the 1974 experiment has been lost to memory. We seem to waste so much time failing to learn from our experience.
