I must say, this level of hyperbole is what pushes a lot of voters away from our side.
Every single part of that statement is an extreme or not so honest play on their actual behavior. What they are doing is already bad enough, we don't need to do this sort of stuff, nor should we. We can't expect to excite more voters when they can't trust us on our word.

Think about it for a second: do you need to convince anyone here at DU to vote Democratic? No. We are all already doing that no matter who is running in our slots. But we do need to convince those who might otherwise vote Republican or Independent. Those people aren't all stupid either, they see statements like this and what do you suppose they think?

We all hated Donald Trump for his behavior, so why should we start behaving the same way? We are better than that.
I'm not attempting to disparage anyone or their thoughts, I would just like for us to think things through a little more so we aren't doing exactly what we chastise them for.
