6. From my reading of scripture, God doesn't forgive without acknowledging one's error and changing

One's ways. There are two parables which deal with forgiveness. The example of the sinner thrown into prison and not being able to get out until his debt is paid. No forgiveness... Paying off a debt. There's a lot to it, but even without the details one should be able to see this applied to paying off a spiritual debt. This is karma.

The other parable, much broader in scope... the god system in a nutshell... Is the prodigal son. Concerning forgiveness, the father figure is not aware of the son's wastrel ways and never helps the son when he's down and out. The son has to do his improvement on his own. The father is happy at the son's return, but there's no forgiveness involved... how could there be when the father was unaware of the son's actions while away? I've heard Christians assert that the Christian God concept is of a personal God, concerned with human creation. Ummmm... no.

What an asshole. God forgive him nt OAITW r.2.0 Jul 2021 #1
