2. Monkeys do have a fairly fine-tuned sense of inequality, though.

I saw a pair of monkeys in separate cages, doing some defined task, after which, they each got a piece of cucumber. All good.

Second time, one monkey got a piece of cucumber, while the other got a prized grape. The one that got the cucumber went off, and ended up throwing the cucumber out of the cage.

Monkeys might not take too well to another monkey hoarding bananas.
