(25,544 posts)119. In 1988 I had to choose a username for this brand-new computer thingie,
and I had no idea what to do, so I looked down at my bookcase and there was a book which I had purchased so that i could understand the workings better of a desktop computer and the software/coding, since I had only worked with mainframes and teletype machine remotes. The title of the Book was:
PCINTERN
I figured, what's the diff and used it. It doesn't matter, the rest is history, right? I became active on the Usenet Groups and then Yahoo and Raging Bull, and was a contributor for years. (Yahoo discontinued their boards and erased all those thousands of posts I made. Grrrr. Raging Bull as well. thousands of hours of work gone forever.)
