That Norman Vincent Peale thing complicates it because he may be so delusional to think he can win against the NY state AG and whatever else will confront him when he leaves office, so he stays in the US.

But deep down at a subconscious level, I'm betting he's terrified, like waaay past sh*t your pants terrified, and that he'll have an "urgent" meeting with Putin in Russia on or about Jan 10, and will never come back.

He's done a great job for Putin, look how divided this country is now compared to 2016. God only knows how many state secrets Trump told to Putin already, and may be trying to sell off in these last 70 days. Putin would welcome him into Russia -- as an example of how he takes care of his bought leaders so he can have similar success in other countries with shaky electorates.
