I have seen this and consider to be peeling back some layers about our Internet usage and, in particular, social media. It is an eye opener if you are not already cognizant about the intentions and motivations for these platforms.
Like they say, if you aren't paying for the product, you ARE the product. If anything, this documentary can increase awareness and stimulate some vital discussion about what's going on.
Are we on a form of cyber-crack? Are the tech giants deliberately pumping a form of home page heroin into us and our cultures? The the amalgamation of vast amounts of collected data, combined with increasingly accurate and complex algorithms, allow for predictions that will only make the medium more addictive, predictive and manipulative.
What are we being lead to believe and how much is it tailored to our likes? Should we put the brakes on?
