This is sheer "would it be possible?" spitballing on my part since I don't know how the inner workings of either board, but if it's possible to use Discussionist to attack servers it may share with DU, that alone would be reason enough to shut it down for good.

But like I said, that's just spitballing possibilities. If a pro chimes in and tells me it doesn't work like that, then it was a mis-aimed spitball.
