(14,173 posts)If any of us gets into an argument with a MAGA-T, this is yet another easy answer to throw back if they get painted into a corner "But but Trump inherited "broken tests" from Obama!" It goes in the vault of "alternative facts" they can use.
Which brings up another thing. So sick of Democrats getting pwned. They should have been harping for weeks, months, already, every chance they get, to inform the public how Trump dismantled the pandemic response team he had set up to deal with just this type of situation. Republicans, especially Trump, will just repeat repeat repeat this lie until its a fact with half the country. Its amazing that this rag tag incompetent R party is so damn effective at not only rewriting history, but the present too.
They now don't even just deflect criticism, now they actually turn it around and accuse the silent Democrats of it until it sticks. So even if Democrats, and competent MSM news, spends all their time debunking Trumps lies about incompetence and inaction by Obama, what is lost is that Obama had actually set up this team in the first place. That he was proactive. It all gets reduced down to he said, he said. False equivalency. And the best outcome will be a conclusion by the MSM that BOTH SIDES are equally incompetent on dealing with pandemics.
Every time, LIKE THIS TIME, Trump tries to invent reality and blame Obama, a Democrat should demand to be heard by the MSM to react immediately and set the record straight.
