If you're 78, if this was a normal year, you'd be required to pull 5% of the 12/31/19 value of your IRA this year. That probably means you'd pull 7% or so of its current depressed value.

With the new CARES Act, you don't have to take any distribution this year. Or, of course, you can take any amount >= 0%.

Ages 70.5 - 72 have passed us by, alas.
