Rose and Fred are indoor cats, so they can't do their business outside. Rose doesn't ever seem to want to go outside, she's strictly a homebody. Fred, Rose's son, goes outside perhaps a couple times a month, but he never stays out for long.
Right now I have enough kitty litter to last about three weeks. I'll be running out of other stuff by then too, so I'll have to go grocery shopping. I'm worried about a lot of things, whether I'll be able to get them at all any more by then, but specifically, what will I do if I can't get kitty litter? They've got to have some place to do their business.
Should I just toss Rose and Fred outside whether they like it or not and close the door and not let them in for most of the day? I feel it'll be just plain mean to make them stay outside most of the time.
Should I go out in the yard and dig up some soil and dump it in the kitty litter box? What I don't like about that is that dirt will have critters in it -- microorganisms, worms, bugs, etc., and I don't want to be bringing those kinds of yukkies into the house.
Any suggestions, y'all?
Or maybe I should just wait three weeks until I actually run out of kitty litter and deal with the problem then if the stores don't have any.
