I am in touch with thousands in the animal welfare community where this is well known. Has nothing to do with any “wings” politically.

PETA did a great job educating the public about factory farming, the plight of circus animals, the many ways animals are exploited and forced to suffer all over the world, but its record on domestic companion animals has not been good. And with all their lawyers, they settled for watered down legislation on AG industry and failed to go to bat in CA on muni dog shelter issues.

All this is well known. They tried to explain themselves, but came up short.

Some good info here including evidence. Photos are gruesome. The initial record was established in No. VA. In 2013. But the situation continues. PETA’s actions in North Virginia led to a local law demanding that shelters account for animals they euthanize.
