(16,844 posts)62. Yes, that's why a lot of people get confused over
Bible quotes and Shakespeare quotes. The same Elizabethan English was used by Shakespeare and the translators of the King James Version, and the KJV was by far the most popular translation for Protestants for many years. In fact, a lot of fundagelicals still claim today that the KJV itself was inspired by God and is the only true translation. I guess we can throw away all those Greek and Aramaic and Hebrew sources. Anyway, dolts like Marsha Blackburn hear a smattering of the Bible in church and Shakespeare in school and they never really know the difference. And she was sent up there to have a very important job making big decisions for our country.

IIRC, Jesus did mention trying to stay out of court at one point. But that's hardly what Marsha ...

For the record, I would assert that the actual dates of Shakespeare's life were 1550-1604.
