for the GOP. I'm sure that's crossed Mitch's mind. But he has to throw raw meat to the Trumpy types, and jumping too fast will push them all away. So, while I think that could happen (and honestly it should happen if any republicans are honest about the criminality and disaster that the trump presidency has been!), I don't know if they can do it fast enough to make a real dent in the 2020 electoral process.
