Takes time. Sheriff Joe was a vicious Nazi, reelected many times.

We still lived in California in 1994. Gov. Wilson and company definitely tried to go too far in denying children especially schooling and medical care. That was on top, though, of the years of hostile actions it took to build outrage to this level of voter rejection.

California always leads the way...

Speaking of change, though, so unfortunate that the dead don't die. I see stories in the LA Times (we still take it) that suggest to me that some conservatives have gotten into power by obtaining appointments and running for office as Democrats -- their dirty ideological signature on work bearing our label. It's also a reminder that at least half, probably more, of those who identify Hispanic are naturally conservative, along with every other group.

We're now a full generation past 1994, so at least there's some benefit from Republicans elsewhere sending out these continuing lessons under their own label of what they are.
