34. It is ironic, isn't it. People abhor violence unless it is being perpetuated against them.

How do you deal with a violent sociopath such as Hitler. Many applauded the attempts to assassinate him and would have gladly put a bullet in him without recourse and would been hail a hero. Many approve of sentencing people to death for crimes less than homicide. A prime example was the trial of traitors in Europe during WWII in which they were killed by firing squads. Aren't bullies like Trump and many of today's Republicans taking advantage of the situation in which they know there won't be any retaliation. Their forms of violence that are not physical but just as deadly. I regard Trump's scamming hundreds if not thousands of honest workers out of their promised pay as a form of violence that could leave many destitute. Hundred of people lost the life savings in his numerous con jobs and the people were helpless to collect a dime and he responded they should have read the contract more carefully. Unfortunately, the laws are designed to protect the innocent and provide crooks like Trump the opportunity to rob people blind. People console themselves with the what many regard as a fantasy they evil bastards will be punished in the after life. The con artists only consider that an opportunity to bilk at will knowing there won't be any retribution and the law will actually protect them. Its more than ironic.
