And he's been a major figure in laundering money and weapons from and to vicious regimes around the world for all kinds of dirty, illegal wars and repression.
The NRA's last four or so decades has been as a far-right organization that fear-mongers among its members and other gun owners and is also intimately tied to the gun manufacturers and arms dealers of the United States - the country that is itself, through both official channels (Pentagon and its contractors) and private channels, the largest arms dealer in the world.
The NRA is also, as is now known, intimately tied to not just the Republican Party (we all knew that), but also, to Russian assaults on the US on behalf of and with the willing and eager welcome from the Republican Party generally and Donald Trump and his family and campaign specifically - and, if history is any guide, likely other countries as well (e.g. the Saudis, the United Arab Emirates, and Israel under Republican Party operative masquerading as the head of government of a foreign country Benjamin Netanyahu). Kushner would be a point man on this stuff, obviously.
Look more into Erik Prince's war criminal and paramilitary activities, and his connections (not just the obvious ones with his sister and his in-laws along with Trump himself). Look into the actives of the "Torturer's Lobby" under Roger Stone and Paul Manafort in the 1980s - the Reagan era, the same era of when Oliver North was a central figure in all of those vicious global criminal activities and covert operations, most of which would have been "off-the-books", as they say. Look into all of it.
Obviously William Barr was a big part of the cover-up and letting the Reagan-Bush criminals off the hook...
