This is a matter of wealth allowing people to make choices that those who are less off, do not. They do not have to go to work. Those whose are denied the right to education and work to take care of themselves end up road kill.
The thread has developed with members knowing well that the GOP War on Women theme means 'Keep 'em barefoot and pregnant.' The fact the wealthy woman lives much better and in more agreeable circumstances than a poor one would live in, is what the GOP refuses to admit.
If one's life can't live up to their fairy tale expectations of having a Prince Charming and being the Queen of the Manor, then one doesn't exist or has something morally or intellectually wrong.
The society progressives want is one of absolute equality and as level a playing field in life as good government affords. The GOP model is based on cronyism and profits and not personal merit. It leaves those born in less than ideal circumstances, no matter how hard they try, in the gutter and subject to predation of all kinds.
It is also the Man is the Master of the House model, but what if he is a cruel or abusive one?
Oh yeah, they've got a book that tells them that they're just supposed to grin and bear it.
