In a primary, we lean towards who comes closest to our politics. I felt El-Sayed was a bit closer to me. Just saying that doesn't mean I think Whitmer isn't a vast improvement either. They can both be good. In a primary, we tend to go with who we feel might be a little bit better.
However, his behavior left much to be desired, and he turned me off him.
Propaganda is sold to everyone all of the time. It cuts both ways. I haven't been hallucinating various intimations that progressives are some sort of Russian-connected spoiler force. That's been peddled around, even here.
The best we can do is critically think.
I very much want Whitmer to win. Michigan needs a fucking break. Since everything where I live is safely blue, I'm seriously considering directing some of my allocated donation money her way. Because, again, Michigan needs a fucking break.
