I was not intoxicated in any way, I have never had any sign of mental illness, and I am not lying (you'll just have to take my word on those because I can't prove any of it).
I was 17 years old and walking to a friend's house in the neighborhood. It was a warm, clear night and there were many stars out, although this was in the middle of a mid-sized city so there was a fair amount of light pollution but you could still make out many stars.
I just happened to glance up at the sky and there it was. At first it looked like some of the stars were moving, and then as the object flew over me I could see it was a craft of some kind with electric lights on the bottom. The lights were what I initially thought were the moving stars.
It was shaped like a boomerang. The object flew directly over me at an altitude of I would guess no more than a thousand feet. It moved extremely fast and made absolutely no noise. When it moved, it didn't seem to fly in the way a human craft would do, it seemed to glide, like a giant paper airplane, effortlessly floating on the sky at a speed that should have broken the sound barrier but was completely and totally silent. No sonic boom at all. The whole encounter lasted maybe 6 or 7 seconds, and then the craft was gone.
This was in 1994, four years before I would get my first computer and internet access. A few years after I got on the internet, for shits and giggles I googled "Boomerang UFO." And I was amazed at all the responses that came up. Lots of people have reported seeing the exact type of craft I saw. There are even videos and photos of it. But the thing that really piqued my interest was that the way people describe it is exactly how I described it.
They are described as moving either very fast, almost gliding across the sky, (which I did see) or they are described as moving very slow and almost hovering in the sky (which I did not see). In all cases that I have ever read about them, everyone describes them as being completely silent, making no noise at all. I can vouch for that.
I've heard the theory that they are secret stealth aircraft operated by the U.S. military. All I can say to that is that I've seen (and heard) an F-22 at a airshow. Those things may be silent on radar, but they are loud as all hell up close. That was definitely not the case with the craft I saw. And this was in 1994, several years before the F-22 made its debut.
Google "Boomerang UFO" or check them out on youtube and believe what you want. But I know what I saw and I got a really good look at it. And I'll just say that the way it moved, the way it sounded (or didn't sound, in this case) and just its general look and feel, said only one thing to me, and that was that human beings did not build this craft.
