(18,378 posts)How does anyone know she wouldn't have had a successful presidency? HRC knew how to get things done on a bipartisan level as a senator, and never let the Republicans roll her. She was such an effective SOS that she won Putin's lasting enmity and our allies' lasting respect. The fact that Putin was afraid of a Clinton presidency and would do anything to stop it should surprise no one.
HRC had detailed plans to start her first term with jobs-creating, much-needed infrastructure; her proposals gave everyone a seat at the table: the under and unemployed, the working class, small businesses, and the manufacturing sector. We would have seen a vigorous first 100 days, and we would already have been reaping the benefits.
We would not have lost the Supreme Court for a generation nor would we have seen 13 new federal judges (many unqualified) hand-picked by the right wing of the Republican party sitting on the bench with lifetime appointments.
The only possible upside of this mess is that Mueller has either forced into "retirement" or is going to flush out every rat in the government (including Congress) who has been willing to sell out the best interests of the country and the people in the pursuit of personal, financial, or extremist ideological goals.
