I've changed my mind. The immunity ruling should stand intact until after...

...President Biden is inaugurated for his second term as President.

That ruling might be needed to secure our Democracy against a second insurrection and coup.

It would be a crime if Biden comitted election interference in such a way that....

...removed trump from the ballot, and because election interference is a crime, he is allowed to do it.

I sincerely hope that Joe Biden....

...is doing something unharmful to anyone, but extremely illegal and fun right now.

He deserves it, and hopefully he will be the only American to ever be able to take advantage of this moment.

If Presidents are no longer subject to laws...

...does that mean that since "high crimes and misdemeanors" no longer apply to them, no President can ever be impeached again?

I just read a great post that points out a very important fact...

The post was this one:

In defense of Biden. No POTUS is a lone actor (not even djt). A presidency is a team effort that...

The piont that I wanted to highlight is that despite trump's delusion that being President means he's the "be-all-and-end-all" of the Executive branch, that isn't true.

The strength of a good leader is in their ability to lead. In fact, it's known that a BAD manager is someone who always tries to do all the work themselves rather than supporting those who were hired to do that work.

By suggesting that Biden's administration should be replaced with an unknown and cobbled together different administration, is to disregard all of the phenomenal work this current administration has accomplished just because the lead of the admnistration didn't present well on tv one day.

Rather than putting all of our hopes on whether one person can charm a hostile media industry, maybe we should be insisting the public hear from us directly on all of the accomplishments that Biden's ADMINISTRATION has succeeded in.

Maybe we should be shouting from the rooftops about how we want to vote for the Executive Branch that comes with a Biden Presidency and that he inarguably leads so well.

Finally some non-troll common sense starts to surface....

If rightwingers can ignore trump's total unworthiness to be President, we can ignore Biden showing up for work when he should have taken a sick day.

This 'replace Biden' stuff is all rightwing trolling.

But here’s what I do know. It is patently absurd to have major newspapers and politicos demanding that Biden exit the race when they never said boo after Trump declared he was running again less than two years after attempting to foment a coup, after he was found liable for raping and defaming writer E. Jean Carroll, after he was ordered to pay $454 million in a civil fraud case or after he was found guilty of almost three dozen felonies in a hush money cased tied to the 2016 election.

Go Joe!!! 🌊 !!!

The debate is over, so it's time to get back to sharing with the world Biden's massive accomplishments, as well pointing out the failures and extreme dangers of trump's time in office.

Keep in mind this coming election isn't just about Joe Biden, there are House and Senate seats to win, Democratic party ideology to share, incredible milestones to celebrate (FIRST Black, female Vice President!), and very important projects to keep working hard at (Biden's climate focus).

We all know very well that the choice is clear, so let's make sure everyone that we have contact with also fully understands the TRUTH of what is at stake in November.

Because even the smoothest con-man in the world is still just a con-man in the long run.

Just tuned into the pre-debate footage...

...on cnn's Atlanta youtube channel ( https://m.

) and it's nice to see that trump never did get to have Air Force 1 repainted to match his personal plane.

Just an idea...

I hope this is the correct forum to share a possibly dumb idea I just had for DU to add a "Fact-Checking" forum.

With an all-important Presidential debate coming up between a good man (who I don't believe is even capable of intentional deception) and a person who has spent his entire adult life working as a con-man, there is going to be a lot of B.S. being spewed that could make this debate a big waste of time and turn our sincere discussions here on DU into frustating arguments that can have no true conclusions.

Basically, this would be a forum for those of us who enjoy doing research to be presented with random bits of info, or claims, that appear in DU posts, but may not necessarily be factual.

I have noticed many discussions devolving into puddles of nonsense and even caught some outright gaslighting at times, but unless a DU poster has a lot of time and skill at researching questionable statements, these sometimes-benign and sometimes-important mis-statements run the risk of melting into the overall noise and derailing an earnest discussion into the realm of speculative fiction.

I myself have simply dropped out of discussions only because I have no way to continue defending a point when faced with the diversions presented by mis- and dis-information.

I'll leave this here because I have no suggestions on how to structure such a forum, but I did want to bring the concept to the table and hope someone sees some kernel of sense in it.

Thanks.
