'We have always been at war with East Asia'

We deplore and condemn East Asia's long and treacherous history of unconscionable and inexcusable crimes against the body politic to this very day ... unless East Asia chooses to caucus with the Democrats. Don't bash Democrats.

Elon Musk plans to put a brain chip in himself.

Elon Musk said he plans to get the Neuralink brain implant for himself when it's available

Elon Musk said on Wednesday that he plans to install a Neuralink brain implant in himself when the device is ready.

"You could have a Neuralink device implanted right now and you wouldn't even know. I mean, hypothetically," Musk said during a show-and-tell event for his startup. "In one of these demos, in fact, in one of these demos, I will."

The founder of the brain computer startup reiterated his pledge to get an implant of the device on Twitter.

Musk doesn't think he'll have to wait too long before making good on his promise. The billionaire said at the event that he expects Neuralink will be ready to begin human trials in the next six months and indicated that the only delay was approval from the US Food and Drug Administration

Fox News Drops Lara Trump as Contributor Due to Donald Trump's 2024 Presidential Run

Source: Yahoo

Fox News has dropped Lara Trump as a paid contributor due to her father-in-law Donald Trump’s recent announcement that he is running for president again in 2024.

“We appreciate Lara’s valuable contributions across Fox News Media programming,” a Fox News Media representative said in a statement.

The parting of ways is amicable and based solely on network protocol, which does not permit the employment of contributors who are either running for public office or are directly connected to campaigns. She can, however, still appear as an unpaid guest on the network.

Lara Trump, a former adviser to Donald Trump’s re-election campaign who is married to the former president’s son Eric, joined Fox News in March 2021.

SpaceX gets permission to deploy 7,500 next-generation Starlink satellites

SpaceX just got permission to begin building out the next generation of its Starlink internet megaconstellation.

On Thursday (Dec. 1), the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved SpaceX to deploy 7,500 Starlink 2.0 satellites in low Earth orbit.

The ruling is just a partial victory for SpaceX, however; the company had applied for permission to deploy 29,988 Starlink 2.0 satellites around Earth. The FCC is deferring a decision about the rest of the envisioned spacecraft.

The FCC granted just the limited approval "to address concerns about orbital debris and space safety," agency officials wrote in Thursday's decision document. These and other issues were raised by "interested parties" regarding the Starlink 2.0 application, which SpaceX filed in 2020.

Something Haley Williams (of paramore) said that I would like to share with DU

I think it’s the work of all of our lifetimes to be uncomfortable

The quote is :-

Williams... comes back to her tendency to generalise. “I don’t want to do the work to think about people as nuanced figures. Like Donald Trump, I don’t want to think about his dad and his dad’s dad and generational bullshit – no! I don’t want to have any grace for people like that. But I think it’s the work of all of our lifetimes to be uncomfortable enough that we can move the needle in the right direction.”

The arc of history does not bend towards justice if people are 'relaxed and comfortable' with injustice, racism, bigotry, poverty and war. To paraphrase John Lewis, it is the work of a lifetime to stay uncomfortable enough to 'speak up, speak out, get in the way, get in good trouble'.

Moving the needle in the right direction means more than comfort in the victories of a rear guard action to stop us going backwards. My 2c.
