So, who can sleep? This is what Joe Biden needs to do next...

Just for the record, Joe had a cold and he likely didn't feel well. That was unfortunate for him and for us, but it's not the end of the world.

What he needs to do now is bring Kamala Harris with him whenever he's in public to remind everyone that yes, he's old, but Kamala isn't, and that's what Vice Presidents are for, to replace Presidents if the need arises. If folks see them together, they will 'get it' and relax a bit.

We're gonna win this, people. Keep the faith and VOTE!

Who's watching?

Trump's voice is much stronger. Joe sounds like he has a cold or sore throat. Scary shit, people. Pray.

9:55 It's a break: Joe needs to say he has a cold/sore throat or whatever it is he has, and ask for a glass of water. As for Trump, let's hope he goes into crazy mode.

10:45 Joe has a cold. The wrap-up talk on MSNBC with Rachel is not going well for Joe or Trump for different reasons.

'Hillary Clinton Explains How Biden Can Beat Donald Trump's 'Nonsense' At Debate'

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/hillary-clinton-trump-biden-debate_n_667ac77ce4b0a7cf62442037

“It is a waste of time to try to refute Mr. Trump’s arguments like in a normal debate. It’s nearly impossible to identify what his arguments even are. He starts with nonsense and then digresses into blather....

But she argued Trump’s tactics, he “interrupts and bullies,” will “fall flat” if Biden is “as direct and forceful” as he’d been with Republican hecklers during his State of the Union address in March.

The president has “facts and truth on his side,” she said. “He led America’s comeback from a historic health and economic crisis, with more than 15 million jobs created so far, incomes for working families rising, inflation slowing and investments in clean energy and advanced manufacturing soaring. He’ll win if that story comes through,” she added."

Nancy Pelosi on The Presidential Debate, Biden, and the Economy: 12 minutes

&t=313s

My Words: This is excellent, people. Nancy rocks it. Not sure what's with Anderson's scowly, questioning look. I don't watch him much. Is this his "Professional Reporter's" gaze?

'Maine - Hundreds attend funeral for US marine who died alone at nursing home'

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/jun/20/gary-brooks-veteran-funeral-maine

"Former US marine Gerry Brooks died alone at a nursing home in Maine, all but forgotten. Then the funeral home posted a notice asking if anyone would serve as a pallbearer or simply attend his burial...

Hundreds of people who knew nothing about the 86-year-old beyond his name showed up on a sweltering afternoon and gave Brooks a final salute with full military honors on Thursday at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial cemetery in Augusta.

Patriot Guard Riders on motorcycles escorted his hearse on the 40-mile route from the funeral home in Belfast, Maine, to the cemetery. Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars paid tribute with a 21-gun salute. Volunteers held American flags alongside the casket while a crane hoisted a huge flag above the cemetery entrance..."

Why is Fox News Allowed To Spread Falsehoods? Seriously, where is the FCC?

&t=186s

My Words: This Fox News Roundtable of liars and fabricators is unconscionable (begins at 3.40). Enough, already! The FCC needs to step up, Now!

https://www.americanbar.org/groups/communications_law/publications/communications_lawyer/2021-summer/worse-a-wasteland-protecting-consumers-cable-news-the-public-interest/

'The FCC will not need to reinvent the wheel to regulate cable news. The news distortion framework, although currently only applicable to broadcast television, should apply to cable television. The commission has already asserted jurisdiction over cable network content in the case of obscene material, as it is not protected by the First Amendment.27 News distortion should be treated similarly because of the special impact of televised news28 and the lesser First Amendment standard for reckless or knowing falsehoods.29...

Trustworthy, fact-based news is critical to the American public. The FCC should use its existing tools and authority to ensure that televised news is accurate. The FCC should (1) enforce existing rules to police news distortion and hoaxes in televised news; (2) extend, if necessary, the news distortion policy and hoax policy to cable news; and (3) revise the news distortion standard so that it is an effective and usable tool against the misinformation of audiences.'

'Boeing CEO Testifies Before Congress'

My words: Changed the link. There was some weird Trump commercial in the middle of the other one that obstructed the CEO's apology to the families present at the hearing at about 25:30. My Words 2: Wow, just wow. I really encourage folks to take a listen to this.

'Boeing's embattled CEO Dave Calhoun testifies before Congress. This Senate hearing will put the CEO on the spot to defend his record and salvage his legacy as he prepares to step down later this year.'
