Supreme Court agrees to review Louisiana's abortion law that could limit women's access.
The court said it would consider whether the 2014 law requiring doctors at abortion clinics to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals unduly burdens womens access to abortion. Critics of the law have said that, if it takes effect, most of the states abortion clinics would be forced to close, leaving the state with only one doctor eligible to perform the procedure.

But her emails ...
Pelosi should agree to WH and GOP demands she hold an "official" House vote on impeachment IF
and only if Trump agrees to give Congressman Alcee Hastings his seat on the U.S District Court back ... since he was impeached and removed from the bench in a proceeding initiated in committee without a formal vote by the full House which, under their "new rules," means his impeachment and conviction were unconstitutional and, therefore, he is still a federal judge whose lifetime appointment is still valid.
Yes, let's do that... Or else, they need to sit down and be quiet.
On edit: Didn't think this was necessary, but ...
Kamala breaks it down to three words: "Dude Gotta Go!"

While the Nixon people were freaking out over John Dean, Alexander Butterfield dropped the big one on them ...
Could it be Volker who does it to Trump?
Why are the people who said Pelosi didn't understand the stakes and would never allow impeachment
after she's proven them completely wrong, think they should now be instructing her on what she should do from here?
NYT: Schiff Got Early Account of Whistle-Blower's Accusations
As I thought - Pelosi and Schiff were way ahead of everyone on this.
The early account by the future whistle-blower shows how determined he was to make known his allegations that Mr. Trump asked Ukraines government to interfere on his behalf in the 2020 election. It also explains how Mr. Schiff knew to press for the complaint when the Trump administration initially blocked lawmakers from seeing it.
Before going to Congress, the C.I.A. officer had a colleague convey his accusations to the agencys top lawyer. Concerned about how that avenue for airing his allegations was unfolding, the officer then approached a House Intelligence Committee aide, alerting him to the accusation against Mr. Trump. In both cases, the original accusation was vague.
The House staff member, following the committees procedures, suggested the officer find a lawyer to advise him and file a whistle-blower complaint. The aide shared some of what the officer conveyed to Mr. Schiff. The aide did not share the whistle-blowers identity with Mr. Schiff or anyone else, an official said.

CNN: Federal judge upholds Harvard's admissions process in affirmative action case
Judge Allison Burroughs ruled Tuesday that while Harvard's admissions process is "not perfect," she will not "dismantle a very fine admissions program that passes constitutional muster, solely because it could do better."
Burroughs found "Harvard's admission program passes constitutional muster in that it satisfies the dictates of strict scrutiny."
The ruling in the closely watched case is likely to be appealed and culminate in a national showdown over affirmative action at the US Supreme Court.
The challengers had argued at trial that as the "personal" rating system disfavors Asian Americans, it favors blacks and Hispanics, who generally have lower standardized test scores compared with Asian Americans.

Oh, FFS. NYT: Trump Pressed Australian Leader to Help Barr Investigate Mueller Inquiry's Origins
The White House restricted access to the calls transcript to a small group of the presidents aides, one of the officials said, an unusual decision that is similar to the handling of a July call with the Ukrainian president that is at the heart of House Democrats impeachment inquiry into Mr. Trump. Like that call, the discussion with Prime Minister Scott Morrison of Australia shows the extent to which Mr. Trump sees the attorney general as a critical partner in his goal to show that the Mueller investigation had corrupt and partisan origins, and the extent that Mr. Trump sees the Justice Department inquiry as a potential way to gain leverage over Americas closest allies.
And like the call with the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, the discussion with Mr. Morrison shows the president using high-level diplomacy to advance his personal political interests.
President Trump initiated the discussion in recent weeks with Mr. Morrison explicitly for the purpose of requesting Australias help in the Justice Department review of the Russia investigation, according to the two people with knowledge of the discussion. Mr. Barr requested that Mr. Trump speak to Mr. Morrison, one of the people said. It came only weeks after Mr. Trump seemed to make military aid to Ukraine contingent on Mr. Zelensky doing him the favor of helping Mr. Barr with his work.
