Are there consequences for loss of life?

I've been asking myself this since the charges were announced for the officers associated with the murder of Breonna Taylor.

We, as a society, have all agreed that we should not murder each other. We all have a mutual understanding that you won't kill me and I won't kill you. We have agreed that loss of life should be punishable. We, as a society, have all agreed to give the state the power enforce our agreement and to punish people that violate our rules or default on our agreement.

Here, we have a young lady that lost her life at no fault of her own. She was innocent in whatever business that police had going on. What exactly is our remedy here? Someone violated the rules that we have all agreed to, and therefore, there should be a consequence.

Win!

If the events of the today in Louisville; the last few weeks and months in Missouri and Wisconsin; and the last four years across the country hasn't taught people that every level and branch of government matters, I don't know what will!

Frankly, it's exhausting telling people who complain about government not doing anything for them to get in the game.

If you think the sheriffs' and police departments is against you and people that look like you;
If you think the judicial system is against you;
If you think the local government is skipping over your community or over your schools;
If you think the state governor or president is a fucking retard;
If you think your legislature should reflect the will of the people;

"Donald Trump has delivered for us"... I listened to The Daily podcast this morning

A couple of others and myself listened to The Daily podcast this morning, which I've linked below. It doesn't mention anything we didn't know but it's still mindboggling to hear it said out loud.

Being interviewed on the podcast is Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the anti-abortion group Susan B. Anthony List. She describes this essentially transactional relationship between the anti-abortion right and Donald Trump, that they don't really care what he really believes as long as he delivers for them and so on.

I think it's worth a listen

President Trump appears to be on course to give conservatives a sixth vote on the Supreme Court, after several Republican senators who were previously on the fence said they would support quickly installing a replacement for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

In our interview today with Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the anti-abortion Susan B. Anthony List, she says she senses a turning point. “No matter who you are, you feel the ground shaking underneath,” she said. “I’m feeling very optimistic for the mission that our organization launched 25 years ago.”

In pursuit of that mission, the Susan B. Anthony List struck a partnership with Mr. Trump during the 2016 election. The group supported his campaign and provided organizational backup in battleground states in exchange for commitments that he would work to end abortion rights.

Ms. Dannenfelser described the partnership as “prudential.”

“Religious people use that term quite a lot because it acknowledges a hierarchy of goods and evils involved in any decision,” she said. “and your job is to figure out where the highest good is found.”

Costco pulls Palmetto Cheese from 120 stores after owner calls BLM 'terror organization'

Costco recently removed a popular pimento cheese brand from 120 of its stores after the owner called the Black Lives Matter movement a "terror organization" on his public Facebook.

In reaction to the murder of two local residents, Brian Henry, founder of Palmetto Cheese and mayor of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, took to Facebook on Aug. 25 with a message many residents considered to be racist in nature. Although the post has since been deleted, screenshots circulated social media calling on customers to #BoycottPalmetto.

Rush Limbaugh calls for GOP to skip hearings for Trump SCOTUS pick and go straight for floor vote

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh called on Republicans to skip a confirmation hearing for whoever Donald Trump nominates to fill the Supreme Court Justice seat left open following the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

The long-time radio host called for the move during his show on Monday.

I want to remind everyone that four years ago, many GOP senators said

that if Hillary Clinton won the election, they would block any SCOTUS nominees that she put forward... including our precious John McCain.
