first of all, I think everyone must realize that whether the Senate would actually convict him is not an open question. The outcome of a senate trial is 100% guaranteed, they will NOT remove Donald J. Trump.

So the Senate trial won't result in Trump being removed. It will be the final episode in the whole matter, and the GOP will milk it. They'll drag it out. They'll time it to coincide with the 2020 election. Lindsey Graham will lead the shit show. It will be ugly, it will be torture for us. And the dems don't have any moves after it.
