Diamond_Dog's JournalJust a thought ....
Guns are not allowed within the U.S. Capitol building.
And all of our congress people have government-paid health care.
What does that tell you?
I'd like to know
what, if anything, is our Secretary of Education doing about stopping these school murders?
I haven't seen her or heard her speak up about it at all. If anyone has, please enlighten me.
I would think that this issue would be of more importance than her relentless crusade promoting "school choice" and making things easier for accused rapists.
Has anyone heard
I don't follow Twitter, and am wondering if our illustrious president has sent congratulations to our Olympic Women's hockey team who won the gold medal against archrival Canada last night. Does anyone know?

And says that a ban on assault weapons wouldn't have prevented this massacre?

Kentucky Bourbon, Wisconsin Cheese could be targets in trade war
If Donnie enacts his trade policy.
From NPR.
"The administration is weighing strict new limits on imported steel and aluminum in hopes of shoring up home-grown metal industries.
But European allies are warning of possible retaliation, including tariffs aimed at politically sensitive products such as bourbon and orange juice."
"With overseas sales of around $1 billion a year, bourbon is just a drop in the barrel of overall U.S. exports. But it's big business in Kentucky, home of Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Likewise, cheese from House Speaker Paul Ryan's home state of Wisconsin could be on the cutting board if America's trading partners fight back with import restrictions of their own. Orange juice from the swing state of Florida could also feel the squeeze."
All Republican governed states! Oh, the irony. Ha Ha

You'll get a lump in your throat, I did
https://img.washingtonpost.com/wp-apps/imrs.php?src=&w=As news of the deadly mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., unfolded last week, Pia Guerra, a 46-year-old Vancouver-based artist, felt helpless. She couldnt bring herself to go to sleep, so she began to draw.
About 6 a.m., she came up with an idea. One of the first victims identified among the 17 people killed was Aaron Feis, an assistant football coach and security guard. Feis was shot after reportedly throwing himself in front of students during the rampage. Guerra was moved by the thought of this heroic man, the father of a young child, standing in front of bullets for students.
Its not often that an image pops in your brain and you feel a lump in your throat, Guerra told The Washington Post.
