Wondering how safe white gas fuel is inside.....

after 96 hours without power, I was thinking illumination and hot food would be a good thing and, why not haul out the camping gear?

Then I thought about CO.....
So I set up on the deck to cook and shine in the lanterns from outside the windows. Not bad....

Sad thing is, I bet a lot of Trump supporters up in the willy-wacks here probably used at least the lanterns in doors....

Sadly, both Lou and Jim are amongst them. Jim wrote "The Basketball Diaries" that I read way back when.....a gritty tale of life in NYC during his early years.

Manhunt: Deadly Games

a 1 season series that tells the story of the Atlanta Olympic bombing and the victim Richard Jewell as well as the real perp and serial bomber, Eric Rudolph.

While I kind of knew the story, this series really illuminated the whole record of how this poor bastard Jewell was falsely tagged by the FBI when he was an actual hero of the event where his action saved maybe hundreds of lives.

It really examines the whole story, media/LEO collusion to falsely incriminate Jewell. Acting was really good and the dialog is excellent.

One thing that really surprised me was the FBI cooperation with the Regulators (a local militia in the NC wilderness (?). This was like, the anti-Waco, where they joined sides to bring this psycho to justice.

I'm afraid that rural America is going to be slammed doubly hard with CV-19 very, very soon.

ICU's, beds, and personnel have been shrinking via consolidation and "restructuring" for decades. There was never a consideration given to a life threatening pandemic. Sadly, this is Trump Country and they will die from both the Covid when no ICU beds are available....or even other life threatening illnesses/injuries when health care is rationed, cuz'.....free enterprise and capitalism!

I'm pretty sure that Democrats didn't reformulate 250 years of Constitutional Law

in the last year or so. How do these "patriots" square with those that fought the English King Donald Trump 250 years ago?

So, 96 hours later, I got my power back....

Yippee! Man, what a time.

And I got hit with 20" on snow to wake up to on Sunday morning....

Luckily, I made an Onion soup Saturday afternoon and was able to heat on the woodstove. Lighting by candles and kerosene lamps. Will be buying a cook stove and lanterns that use white gas the first chance I get.

Luckily, I had my smart phone and Youtube TV, so I was able to read DU, watch MSNBC, and a few movies.

It's good to be re-connected. I'm getting solar panels and battery back-up in February...this should help mitigate these outages in the future.
