Potential Democratic candidates for the 2024 MD US Senate Election if Cardin retires.

Tom Perez- former DNC chair and US Secretary of Labor, ran for MD Governor in 2022- finished in 2nd place narrowly losing to Wes Moore.
US Representatives- John Sarbanes,Jamie Raskin,and Glenn Ivey.
MD Statewide Elected officials - Aruna Miller,Anthony Brown,and Brooke Lierman.

Tom Perez’s political career in MD and National politics.
Montgomery County Council 2002-2006
MD Secretary of Labor,Licensing,and Regulation. 2007-2009
US Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Division 2009-2013
US Secretary of Labor 2013-2017
Chairman of the Democratic National Committee 2017-2021.
Democratic candidate for MD Governor in 2022(finished in 2nd place)
Wes Moore received 32 percent,Tom Perez received 30 percent.
If Tom Perez wants to run for elected office in MD in the near future- US Senator in 2024 if Ben Cardin retires is the appropriate position.
Aruna Miller,Anthony Brown,Brooke Lierman,John Sarbanes,Jamie Raskin,and Glenn Ivey can remain in their current positions.
Tom Perez will be the first Hispanic US Senator from MD.
